The Possibilities:

If you are seeking support, consultation, guidance, or solutions I am happy to offer my professional help and insights as a counselor and educator.  My approach is one of inclusivity, acknowledgment, and affirmation of our individuality and uniqueness, especially when it comes to expressing ourselves in ways that have, in the past, been shamed, shunned, or rejected. Some of the work I do focuses on managing, problem-solving, and/or exploring:

  • Life transitions, inter-personal growth, and self-exploration in general
  • Connection, communication, and relationships
  • Issues involving unexpected genealogy and/or DNA results, NPE (non-paternity event) or MPE (Misattributed Parentage Experience) experiences
  • Intimacy and obstacles in sexual expression including kink, polyamory, consensual non-monogamy
  • General depression and anxiety management

Services:

  • Free Phone Consultation: General phone calls that exceed 10-15 minutes, after the initial meeting, will have a fee.
  • Individual sessions- $130-$160 (50 minute session) & $195-$225 (80 minute session)
  • Push Appointments: These are appointments made for after hours, for crises, intensive situations, or those who may need support at unusual hours.
  • Insurance Billing & Reimbursements: I am no longer offering courtesy billing for insurance coverage except for with Kaiser Permanente. I do, however, offer receipts for services paid for by clients that can be submitted to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. I find allowing clients to pay for services directly/out of pocket offers more privacy/confidentiality, no need to share highly sensitive information to a third party, less of a need for clinical diagnoses, and more time to devote to helping my clients.

 * All fees are collected at the end of each session and expected at the time of the session unless a special arrangement has been made for payment.

At this time the following methods of payment are accepted:

  • Debit/Credit Card (Receipts for services can also be provided to turn into your insurance company for reimbursement)

Sexuality issues in counseling:

Often, sexuality can be a difficult topic of discussion, but I do my best to create a safe environment. Many people are raised with little information regarding sex, their bodies, and the various sexual identities. Regardless, people are sexual beings and each person falls on different parts of the sexual spectrum. However, sex is a stigmatized and suppressed topic, making it difficult to talk about for many. My practice is a sex-positive practice, in other words, promoting the education and normalization of healthy, age appropriate, consensual, and safe sexual behavior.

NOTE: (just in case there is an confusion) discussing sexuality in counseling does NOT include the removal of any clothing, does NOT include sexual behavior in session by anyone, and sexual issues will not be discussed without the initial consent and request from everyone who is involved.
